Born and raised in Texas, I began my career as a Fashion Designer in 2005 while attending Wade College of Fashion in Dallas. During my first semester, I launched my collection of bridal dresses and debuted the line at an indie fashion show during ATX Austin Fashion Week, and Dallas Market later that year. Before it was all said and done, I had jumped feet first into fashion and landed my collection in a few bridal boutiques and sold a few hundred more online through a website I built myself. I didn’t have a full load of college under my belt, (or much money to pay for college and living expenses) but where I lacked in credits I made up for in street cred. Having limited means can either make or break a person. In my case, it just made me work my ass off to prove I could do anything I wanted, regardless of circumstances. My drive to achieve whatever I set my mind to has always been what gets me from a vision to the end goal.
In 2006 I worked my first apparel design job in Dallas for a loungewear manufacturer, but it didn’t take long for me to decide the west coast was where I truly wanted to be. So, at the tail end of 2007, I packed everything I owned and my two miniature Schnauzers into a Penske truck and headed west to get my hands dirty in the heart of LA’s garment district. I spent three years designing premium denim and had the privilege of working with some of the best wash houses, denim mills and factories in Los Angeles. Fast-forward to 2017 and I have worked everywhere from Texas to LA, Denver, Philly and New York designing denim, women’s contemporary, girls and juniors apparel. I guess you could say I have covered a lot of ground and gathered a substantial amount of fashion tumbleweeds along the way! See the Brands I have had the pleasure to work with.
Throughout the duration of my career, I became pretty savvy in product development, branding and digital marketing. Having worked with bootstrap startups, boutique brands and multi-million dollar lines, I have learned a lot about creating to launching and marketing a product, service or a brand successfully. Launching brands on a very limited budget has also made me extremely resourceful. I now specialize as a Creative Director for apparel and lifestyle brands from concept to consumer. In 2016, I launched Pitschy, my marketing agency. What I discovered the most is the importance of creating something you truly love and believe in, and the value of working with a great team.
